Basketball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. David City Scouts

The Milford Eagles will take on the David City Scouts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Milford strolled past Malcolm with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. The 52-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask David City). They were the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over East Butler on Tuesday. Given the Scouts' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Tigers are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Milford and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for David City, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.

Milford was able to grind out a solid win over David City when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 33-26. Does Milford have another victory up their sleeve, or will David City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
