Basketball Recap: Edgewater Takes a Loss

Edgewater played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 65-36 loss at the hands of the Ocoee Knights. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

It was another big night for Dakara Merthie, who went 7 for 12from beyond the arc on her way to 28 points and five assists for Ocoee. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Weiser, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Edgewater fell to 3-1. As for Ocoee, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Edgewater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-50 victory against Wekiva on the 6th. As for Ocoee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-35 defeat against Dr. Phillips on the 6th.
