Basketball Recap: Avon Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Upper Cape Cod RVT came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Avon, but Thomas Edwards wouldn't allow it. The Avon Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams on Tuesday, sneaking past 53-51 thanks in part to Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Avon's points.

Travis Guillaume was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.

Avon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Avon will square off against Westport and their three-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Upper Cape Cod RVT will try to stop Blue Hills RVT's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
