Blue Ridge proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Thatcher Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellow Jackets have posted since October 8, 2024.

Noelle Harris paced Blue Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Harris got some help from Brianna Robison and her 16 assists. Harris also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Chloe York, racking up three apiece.

Blue Ridge's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Thatcher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Coincidentally, Blue Ridge and Thatcher will both be playing Red Mountain the next time they take the court. The Yellow Jackets will head out to face the Mountain Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 1:15 p.m.
