Softball Recap: Crivitz Now 11-2 over Last 13 Games

Crivitz hadn't done well against Coleman recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wolverines blew past the Cougars 10-1. Considering the Wolverines have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Taryn Tracy made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Izzy Wesoloski was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Haili Dorschner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Crivitz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coleman only posted a batting average of .120.

Crivitz is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Coleman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, Crivitz will take on Kewaunee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Storm have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Coleman, they will square off against Oconto Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
