Basketball Recap: Chetopa Takes a Loss

Chetopa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Fredonia Yellowjackets and fell 79-12. The Hornets lost against the Yellowjackets in their previous head to head back in January of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-29 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Chetopa lost, don't look at Jackson Lawellin. Despite the final result, he posted four points and six rebounds.

Chetopa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Fredonia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Chetopa has already played their next game, a 58-36 loss against Liberty HomeSchool Alliance on the 22nd. As for Fredonia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-42 defeat against Pleasanton on the 20th.
