Softball Recap: Huntington Highlanders vs. Spring Valley Timberwolves

Huntington had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-22 to make it 19. They lost 13-7 to the Spring Valley Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-3 defeat back in April.

Ellie Fei made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Kayleigh Gibson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

As for Spring Valley, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-12 record. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

On Spring Valley's side, Kennedy Davis was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Davis has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Turner, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs.

As of now, neither Huntington nor Spring Valley have any future games scheduled.
