Football Recap: Monsignor Pace Starts Season with Victory at Home

Monsignor Pace took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Gulliver Prep Raiders with a 26-21 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Gulliver Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Luc Carroll and Brendan Beery. Carroll picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Beery threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dennis Obsaint, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monsignor Pace will venture away from home to square off against True North Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 6th. As for Gulliver Prep, they will head out to face off against King's Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
