League recap: Patterson's Lopes delivers best pitching performance from past week

Western's top pitcher this week was Joey Lopes. He won one game and struck out 10 batters.

Central Catholic (19-5, 11-1) has won six games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. In the past week, the Raiders won another game,. Chris Sauls's hot bat led the team this week, as he racked up two hits and three RBIs.

Los Banos still leads the league with just 144 base hits give up over the entire season, but Central Valley gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (eight).

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Jake Thompson, who turned in 10 Ks for Patterson. With 46 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks seventh in the league.

Robert Marroquin led the league with eight hits this week for the Tigers. On the season, he's hitting .316 and ranks sixteenth in the league with 25 hits.
