Basketball Recap: Emmy Hales' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Payson over Lehi + How To Watch

Payson came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lehi Pioneers, falling 52-31. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emmy Hales, who posted nine points along with eight boards and three blocks. Hales is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Abbie Rowley, who earned eight points and five rebounds.

Lehi's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kelcee Rasmussen, who went 7-for-8 on her way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Rasmussen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Warren, who had nine points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lehi, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Payson will venture away from home to face off against Bountiful at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th. As for Lehi, they will welcome Timpview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
