Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Lutheran Falcons vs. Yerington Lions

Sierra Lutheran is 0-4 against Yerington since December of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sierra Lutheran Falcons will host the Yerington Lions at 7:30 p.m. Yerington took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sierra Lutheran, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Sierra Lutheran turned things around against Coral Academy of Science - Reno on Saturday. They breezed by the Falcons to the tune of 57-11. That 46 point margin sets a new team best for Sierra Lutheran this season.

Meanwhile, Yerington ended up a good deal behind Battle Mountain on Saturday and lost 52-37. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Yerington and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Sierra Lutheran, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.

Sierra Lutheran came up short against Yerington in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 67-59. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Yerington's Colby Rowe, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with six steals and five assists.
