Recap: Nebraska City Pioneers vs. Platteview Trojans
The Nebraska City Pioneers suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 60-36 loss at the hands of Platteview. While losing is never fun, Nebraska City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Platteview is ranked 108th).
Nebraska City's loss came despite strong showings from Amiya Ellis and Tarryn Godsey. Ellis scored seven points, while Godsey scored seven points along with two blocks. Godsey hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games.
Nebraska City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Platteview, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nebraska City will take on Plattsmouth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Platteview, they will play host again and welcome Duchesne, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Duchesne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Saturday.
