Hickory Ridge has gone 7-1 against West Cabarrus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ragin' Bulls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Hickory Ridge's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while West Cabarrus has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Thursday, Hickory Ridge beat A.L. Brown 10-7. The Ragin' Bulls haven't had any issues with the Wonders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Embler Kristyn made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Kristyn was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Hailey Faulkenberry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
Hickory Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, West Cabarrus lost 19-2 to A.L. Brown on Tuesday.
West Cabarrus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cadyn Ready, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.
West Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Hickory Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
West Cabarrus' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hickory Ridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for West Cabarrus, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Hickory Ridge's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolverines will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hickory Ridge took their win against West Cabarrus in their previous matchup on April 4th by a conclusive 12-3 score. Will the Ragin' Bulls repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
