Softball Game Preview: Jackson County Blue Devils vs. Cumberland County Jets

The Jackson County Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Cumberland County Jets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jackson County, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Jackson County got the win against Pickett County by a conclusive 16-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Madison Donovan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Makynzee Schneider was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Holloway, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Cumberland County's offense. They came up short against DeKalb County on Monday, falling 19-0. The Jets have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Cumberland County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Jackson County, their record is now 3-13.
