Football Game Preview: Groves Rebels vs. Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets

Groves is 0-6 against Southeast Bulloch since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Groves has given up an average of 46 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Groves is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Johnson last Friday.

Despite their loss, Groves saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Taff James, who rushed for 66 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also picked up 52 receiving yards and one TD, was perhaps the best of all. Kaleb Detty was another key signal caller, throwing for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 50 points the game before, Southeast Bulloch was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Liberty County by a score of 10-7. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Southeast Bulloch's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Groves, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Groves took a serious blow against Southeast Bulloch in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 50-14. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rebels were down 43-0.
