Game recap: Winning streak over as Trinity Christian Academy defeats Holy Trinity Episcopal

Trinity Christian Academy (Deltona, Fla.) snapped Holy Trinity Episcopal (Melbourne, Fla.)'s 4-game winning streak, with a 28-7 victory on Saturday.After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the second quarter, the Eagles led 14-7 at the half.

Trinity Christian Academy expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. TCA's lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.

The result came as a big surprise as the Tigers came in ranked No. 349 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Florida, while the Deltona school was ranked No. 400.

Holy Trinity Episcopal's Nick Hamer played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.

HTE's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Hamer in the second quarter.



The Eagles got revenge for last year's 35-20 loss to the Melbourne school with the victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Holy Trinity Episcopal, which notched a 14-6 victory over Trinity Prep in its previous outing. With the win Trinity Christian Academy extended its winning streak to three games.

In a 3A District 4 game next week Holy Trinity Episcopal (4-1) takes on Neumann, and Trinity Christian Academy (3-1) will go up against Warner Christian in a 2A District 3 game.
