Recap: Calvary Chapel Grizzlies vs. Magnolia Science Academy Pirates
The Calvary Chapel Grizzlies won the last time they faced the Magnolia Science Academy Pirates, and things went their way on Thursday too. Calvary Chapel breezed by Magnolia Science Academy on the road to the tune of 61-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Calvary Chapel.
It was another big night for Kirk Cuthbert, who scored 18 points. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Raymond Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Calvary Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. As for Magnolia Science Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel will take on Wilson at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Calvary Chapel likes a good challenge. Magnolia Science Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vista Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Vista Meridian is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
