Central is 6-1 against Woodlawn-B.R. since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Wildcats face off against the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Central will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Central was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Martinville, taking the game 42-30. The squad ran away with 31 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Meanwhile, Woodlawn-B.R. lost to Madison Prep Academy at home by a 72-54 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Madison Prep Academy are ranked 12th).

Central will need focus on slowing down Kelinee Stone, one of several Woodlawn-B.R. players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Stone's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kaleb Brandon was another key player, putting up 20 points and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodlawn-B.R. and nudges their season record down to 15-10. As for Central, their victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Central was able to grind out a solid win over Woodlawn-B.R. in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 64-56. Does Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woodlawn-B.R. turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
