Recap: Lincoln Southeast Knights vs. Lincoln North Star Navigators
Even though the Lincoln North Star Navigators scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, the Lincoln Southeast Knights still came out on top. Lincoln Southeast enjoyed a cozy 71-57 win over Lincoln North Star. The win was familiar territory for Lincoln Southeast who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Taye Moore, who scored 23 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lincoln Southeast's points. Another player making a difference was Deng Giet, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Jordan Castor and Lazerek Houston certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Castor scored 24 points along with three blocks, while Houston scored 18 points along with three steals. The game was Castor's sixth in a row with at least ten points. KG Gatwech was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Lincoln North Star struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Lincoln Southeast has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Lincoln North Star, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Lincoln Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kearney at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Kearney is ranked 82nd, while Lincoln Southeast is ranked 75th). As for Lincoln North Star, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln High at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln High is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
