Basketball Recap: Camryn Thomas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carver over Hardaway

Carver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Hardaway Hawks on the road by a 57-38 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Hawks are ranked 50th).

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camryn Thomas, who posted six points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of SyBria English, who earned 11 points.

Mikayla Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hardaway, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Rhianna Boynton was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

Carver's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hardaway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Carver has already played their next matchup, a 64-53 victory against Spencer on the 11th. As for Hardaway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-38 win against Shaw on the 11th.
