Meanwhile, Savannah fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Portal on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 21-14 to the Panthers. The Bluejackets were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Savannah's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Emanuel County Institute, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Emanuel County Institute against Savannah in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-14 victory. In that game, the Bulldogs amassed a halftime lead of 40-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
