Basketball Recap: Grace Baptist Christian Takes a Loss

Grace Baptist Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. The match between them and the Bible Baptist Eagles didn't end well, with Grace Baptist Christian falling 52-35.

Bible Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clayton Luchene, who went 8 of 17 to rack up 22 points and four steals. That's the most points Luchene has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marcos Carrillo, who put up nine points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

Grace Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bible Baptist, their record is now 9-7.

Grace Baptist Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bible Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Bible Baptist, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 27-20 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 6th.
