Softball Game Preview: Kingsway Dragons vs. Egg Harbor Township Eagles

The Kingsway Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Egg Harbor Township Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Egg Harbor Township took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Kingsway, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Kingsway got the win against Gloucester County Tech by a conclusive 14-1. The Dragons have beaten Gloucester County Tech the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Gloucester County Tech has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Egg Harbor Township fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Millville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Thunderbolts by a score of 9-7. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Thunderbolts since on Monday.

E Mayer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Laura Mack was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Egg Harbor Township and nudges their season record down to 1-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Kingsway, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
