Baseball Recap: Mora Find Success

Mora proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Penasco Panthers 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Marcus Vigil and Krystopher Padilla did most of the damage at the plate: Vigil went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Padilla went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Vigil a new career-high. Daniel Montoya also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mora picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Penasco, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Mora by a score of 3-2 later that day.
