            Volleyball Recap: O'Neill Eagles vs. Battle Creek Braves        
        
		
        
        
            O'Neill was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They came up short against  the Battle Creek Braves, falling  3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  2-0  back in September.
 The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21,  25-16.
 Bergyn Classen paced O'Neill's offense, picking up 11 kills. Classen got some help from  Hannah Hilker and her 31 assists.
 Battle Creek was led to victory by  Jaidyn Smutny and  Ava Kuchar.  Smutny  had 21  digs, while  Kuchar  had 21  assists and three  digs. Smutny has been hot recently, having  posted 11 or more  digs the last four times she's  played.
O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Battle Creek, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record  this season.
 O'Neill will be playing at home against Norfolk Catholic  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Battle Creek has  already played their next  contest (against Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
