Sacred Heart won the last time they faced St. Mary and things went their way on Friday too. The Sacred Heart Trojans blew past the St. Mary Tigers 12-1. Considering the Trojans have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Amelia Fontenot was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Jolie Vidrine was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Maci Droddy, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
