DALTON, Ga. -
Dalton (Ga.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 33-21 win over
Heritage (Ringgold, Ga.).
The Catamounts put up 21 points in the opening frame. Dalton scored on a kick return touchdown by
Brandon Dale, a
Cole Calfee touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Kelvis Rhodes.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Dale in the first quarter, DHS led 27-7 at the half.
The Catamounts saw their 20-point halftime lead fall to 13 entering the fourth.
Calfee played well for Dalton in the victory. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
A 42-21 Dalton victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
With the win the Catamounts extended their winning streak to three games.
Dalton (6-3) goes up against Southeast Whitfield County in a AAAA Region 7B game matchup next week, while Heritage (0-8) locks horns with Ridgeland also in a AAAA Region 7B game.
