Softball Recap: Pope John Paul II Comes Up Short on the Road Against Gallatin

Pope John Paul II had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gallatin Green Wave. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Maddie Black was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Lizzie Browning, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pope John Paul II will venture away from home to challenge Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gallatin, they are taking a road trip to face off against Westmoreland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
