Volleyball Recap: Sayre Takes a Loss

If Sayre was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cowanesque Valley on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redskins took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williamson Warriors on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 last Saturday.

Sayre started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-15, 25-14, 26-24.

Sayre's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Williamson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sayre and Williamson will both be playing Galeton the next time they take the court. The Redskins will host the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
