Basketball Game Preview: Tavares Bulldogs vs. Lyman Greyhounds

The Tavares Bulldogs and the Lyman Greyhounds will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tavares is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Tavares against University as the squad secured a 72-28 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Tavares' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but IZAYIA WILLIAMS led the charge by going 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points and three steals. AMARE WALKER was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Lyman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Legacy Charter, falling 88-46. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Eagles are ranked 202nd).

Tavares has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Lyman, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
