Recap: Choctaw County Tigers vs. Southern Choctaw Indians
The Choctaw County Tigers came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-27 victory over Southern Choctaw. This was payback for Choctaw County, who suffered a 67-52 loss the last time these two teams met.
India Graham was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Despite the loss, Southern Choctaw still got an impressive performance from Marcionna Young, who scored 15 points. Young is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keri Mcgee, who scored seven points.
Choctaw County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9. As for Southern Choctaw, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Millry the next time they take the court. Choctaw County will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Indians will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
