Preview: Enfield Eagles vs. East Catholic Eagles
Enfield is 0-7 against East Catholic since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Enfield Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the East Catholic Eagles at 6:45 p.m. One thing working in Enfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
Enfield pushed their score all the way to 60 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Manchester 66-60. While losing is never fun, Enfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Manchester is ranked 11th).
Meanwhile, East Catholic can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They claimed a resounding 92-52 win over Edwin O. Smith at home. The victory was nothing new for East Catholic as they're now sitting on four straight.
Enfield now has a losing record at 7-8. As for East Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Enfield took a serious blow against East Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 87-40. Can Enfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
