Softball Recap: Roy Royals vs. Bonneville Lakers

Roy had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-16 to make it ten. They came up short against the Bonneville Lakers, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 last Thursday.

As for Bonneville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-13 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Bonneville's part, they got a massive performance out of Kaylee McAfee, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits McAfee has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellee Summers, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Roy will square off against rival Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bonneville is set to take on their familiar foe Clearfield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
