Soccer Game Preview: LaVergne vs. Wilson Central

The LaVergne Wolverines will challenge the Wilson Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

LaVergne is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Smyrna just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They and the Bulldogs finished up their game with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time LaVergne have been dealt a draw since back in April.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Wilson Central brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Everything went their way against Macon County on Thursday as they made off with a 4-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Wilson Central's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

LaVergne's draw makes their record 6-7-2 this season. As for Wilson Central, they moved to 7-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

LaVergne took their win against Wilson Central in their previous matchup last Friday by a conclusive 4-0 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
