Basketball Game Preview: Ware County Gators vs. Benedictine Cadets

Ware County has won ten straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Benedictine has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Ware County Gators will welcome the Benedictine Cadets at 6:00 p.m. Ware County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Benedictine likes a good challenge.

Ware County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Wayne County, posting a 92-49 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Benedictine strolled past New Hampstead with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 62-47. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Phoenix are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Benedictine's win came from a few key players Ware County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Jones, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 30 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The contest was his 41st in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Williams, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points along with five boards and three steals.

Ware County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.7 points. As for Benedictine, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
