Volleyball Preview: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Anclote Sharks
After both having extra time off, the Gulf Buccaneers and the Anclote Sharks will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Gulf came up short against Tarpon Springs and fell 3-1.
The final score came out to 25-9, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20.
Meanwhile, Anclote was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gulf.
While Anclote had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 17-25, 25-20, 25-22.
Even though they lost, Anclote was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Gulf's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Anclote, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
