It's playoff time, and Heppner had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the St. Paul Buckaroos 56-16 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 games by 35 points or more so far this season.

Alakae Rodriguez produced another solid performance rushing for 187 yards and four scores while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass. Another back making a difference was Caleb George, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Heppner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 467 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Heppner didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Joesph Albitre.

Heppner's record now sits at 12-0. As for St. Paul, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Coming up, Heppner will square off against Lost River at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. St. Paul does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
