Baseball Recap: Staunton Comes Up Short

Staunton and Althoff Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Staunton had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 27, 2024.

Staunton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Overby, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Staunton's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-14-1. As for Althoff Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Staunton nor Althoff Catholic have any future games scheduled.
