Softball Recap: Aledo Bearcats vs. John Paul II Cardinals
It was a proper cat-fight when Aledo challenged John Paul II on Thursday. The Bearcats walked away with a 7-3 win over the Cardinals.
Rylee Marx made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Marx was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Aledo got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Taloa, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits Taloa has posted since back in April of 2025. Gigi Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Aledo lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. They launched three more home runs than John Paul II's also-impressive total of two.
Aledo now has a winning record of 2-1. As for John Paul II, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Coming up, Aledo will take on Allen in a tournament on Thursday. As for John Paul II, they will face off against Granbury at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
