Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Korben Reed and Toetu Moliga Lead Lakes to Victory + How To Watch

Lakes won against Bonney Lake last Friday with 21 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Lancers managed a 21-17 win over the Curtis Vikings. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Toetu Moliga and Korben Reed. Moliga rushed for 107 yards on only 11 carries while Reed rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Ean Owens, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Lakes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kyran Sessoms and Corey Irish.

The victory was the third in a row for Lakes, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.3 points on average this season. As for Curtis, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Lakes and Curtis will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lancers are set to face off against their familiar foe North Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Curtis will take on rival Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
