Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

St. Cloud won the last time they faced Poinciana, and Arianna Viera did her part to make sure it happened again. The St. Cloud Bulldogs claimed a resounding 45-15 win over the Poinciana Eagles thanks in part to Viera, who went 9 for 21 on her way to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Vanessa Vohs, who posted eight points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in November of 2024.

St. Cloud is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 8.79 offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 8.79 in the others. As for Poinciana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

St. Cloud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-42 loss against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on the 31st. Poinciana has also already played their next game, a 53-46 defeat against Davenport on the 31st.
