Football Game Preview: Grapeland Sandies vs. Alto Yellowjackets

The Grapeland Sandies will take on the Alto Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Grapeland beat Overton 37-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sandies.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Alto and Cushing have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Bearkats by a score of 29-20. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Yellowjackets were the (much) better team in the second half.

Grapeland now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Alto, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Grapeland strolled past Alto in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 20-6. Will the Sandies repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
