Volleyball Recap: Army-Navy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cristo Rey last Friday, Army-Navy came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Del Lago Academy Firebirds on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Army-Navy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-11.

Despite the loss, Army-Navy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sean Germani had 30 digs and one assist. Germani is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season.

Army-Navy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Del Lago Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Army-Navy will be playing in front of their home fans against Calvin Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Del Lago Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Firebirds surely won't give up without a fight.
