Preview: Ithaca Yellowjackets vs. Valley Lutheran Chargers
Ithaca is 8-2 against the Chargers since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ithaca Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the Valley Lutheran Chargers at 7:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Ithaca came up short against the Huskies and fell 57-47. Ithaca has struggled against the Huskies recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Valley Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with the Lancers on the road on Tuesday as they won 62-45. With that win, Valley Lutheran brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Elijah Wolter was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Rauschert, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Ithaca's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Valley Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Ithaca couldn't quite finish off the Chargers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 40-38. Can Ithaca avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
