Chatham extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Sydney Ward. The Chatham Cavaliers really took it to the Dan River Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-27 victory thanks to Ward, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 15 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of JaMya Johnson, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 16 points and three steals. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Dan River had strong showings from Liza Maxey, who went 6-for-15 en route to 14 points and five boards, and Samaria Knick, who posted five points and ten rebounds. That was a full 51.9% of Dan River's points, marking the third time in a row Maxey has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Chatham's record is now 17-4. As for Dan River, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Chatham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 38-30 win against Altavista on the 18th. As for Dan River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-46 loss against Appomattox County on the 18th.
