Soccer Game Preview: Madison vs. Lawrenceburg

The Madison Cubs will challenge the Lawrenceburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Madison comes in on eight and Lawrenceburg on four.

Madison is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Silver Creek get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Madison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Silver Creek with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kyra Ayler (2), Jadelyn Abbott, and Maggie Stivers.

Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Batesville 1-0. Lawrenceburg's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Madison's victory bumped their record up to 17-2-1. As for Lawrenceburg, their win bumped their record up to 13-5-1.

Madison might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Lawrenceburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cubs were down 4-0.
