Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pinnacle entered their tilt with Boulder Creek on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Jaguars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 on Tuesday.

Noah Weiss tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pinnacle is 3-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Green, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pinnacle's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 7-10-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Erik Moo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Pinnacle's record is now 13-11-1. As for Boulder Creek, they dropped their record down to 8-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Pinnacle will venture away from home to take on Perry at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Boulder Creek, they will welcome Corona del Sol at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Aztecs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
