Preview: Pearl River Central Blue Devils vs. Jim Hill Tigers
The Pearl River Central Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Jim Hill Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pearl River Central and five for Jim Hill.
Last Friday, Pearl River Central came up short against Hattiesburg and fell 44-35. While losing is never fun, Pearl River Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Hattiesburg is ranked 14th).
Meanwhile, Jim Hill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Tuesday as they fell 59-53 to Forest Hill.
Pearl River Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Jim Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Pearl River Central was able to grind out a solid win over Jim Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 59-49. Does Pearl River Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jim Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
