Baseball Recap: Anaheim Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Anaheim proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Artesia Pioneers 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Colonists: when they faced off against the Pioneers back in February, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Tabita, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Anaheim's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-16 when he doesn't).

Tabita wasn't the only one making solid contact: Anaheim kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Colonists are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Anaheim's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-16. As for Artesia, they moved to 16-8-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Anaheim will face off against Loara at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saxons will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Colonists surely won't give up without a fight. Artesia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
