Basketball Recap: Wapakoneta Finds Home Court Redemption Against Jackson Center

There's no place like home for Wapakoneta, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Jackson Center Tigers on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Redskins' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Tigers are ranked 113th).

Wapakoneta's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Jackson Center, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3.

When Wapakoneta and Jackson Center next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Wapakoneta will try to stop Shawnee's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Jackson Center will face off against Russia and their 14-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
